'How could I say no?' - Donald Cerrone expresses interest in fighting Jake Paul after admitting ster
Donald Cerrone is open to boxing Jake Paul after retiring from MMA.
In July, ‘Cowboy’ suffered a second-round submission loss to Jim Miller at UFC 276 before taking off his gloves, placing them in the middle of the Octagon, and announcing he is done with the sport.
Cerrone left the sport joint-second for the most UFC wins in history with 23 and the most UFC finishes with 16 after a ridiculous 38 fights with MMA’s premier promotion.
During his brief time away from fighting, the 39-year-old has seriously bulked up and now weighs 220lbs following a career competing between 155-170lbs.
After being inundated with compliments and questions about his body transformation, Cerrone admitted that he has been using performance-enhancing substances.
Now, he’s expressed an interest in becoming the latest UFC fighter to take on Paul in a boxing ring following his impressive wins over Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva.
“Would I like to fight him? Of course, how could I say no to f***ing millions of dollars? I would definitely go out there and do it,” Cerrone told Thiccc Boy.
Despite wanting to fight ‘The Problem Child’, Cerrone insists he is not one of the many people who doubt Paul’s ability as a boxer or the legitimacy of his 6-0 record.

“I’m not sitting over here saying, ‘Jake, you’re a f***ing YouTuber, ain’t worth a f***, blah, blah, blah.’ You’re making money, make the f***ing money. If you want to throw some money my way, I’m with ya.”
The UFC legend compared Paul to Conor McGregor who was the biggest MMA star of all time by the time he stopped Cerrone in one round almost three years ago.
“The Jake Paul phenomenon is kinda crazy. He’s got everybody calling him out, kinda like the big Conor push. That’s what I feel like is happening with Jake Paul.
"Everyone’s saying those are like rigged fights, but I think he’s hitting hard. I really do think those are legitimate shots and strikes.
"He’s been practicing boxing and he’s whipping their a**. I don’t think there’s any mis-hype. I think he’s got something going on there.”
Paul is currently looking for an opponent for his next fight.
The 25-year-old has been strongly linked to a fight with Nate Diaz who recently ended his 15-year UFC run and is now a free agent.
Tommy Fury has also been talked about as a potential foe after pulling out of two previous fight dates with Paul due to an injury and travel issues.
